Tutkija Stuartin mukaan Comalcalcon tiilestä näyttäisi olevan erotettavissa ainakin verbi ”huli” eli ”hän/se saapuu”.

Majoilla on ajateltu olleen yhteyksiä avaruusolentoihin eli päivämäärä voisi mm. viitata seuraavaan kertaan kun avaruusolennot saapuvat maapallolle.

Majojen aikakäsitys on ilmeisesti ollut syklinen. Länsimainen aikakäsitys on tyypillisesti korostetun lineaarinen eli kaikella on alku ja loppu. Syklisessä aikakäsityksessä kaikki toistuu ja alkua ja loppua ei samanlailla ole olemassa.
